Editorial Review Policy
This page sets out how OddsRoyalty approaches the comparison and review of UK-facing sportsbook products, and the standards we apply to ensure consistency and independence.
Our editorial approach
OddsRoyalty reviews are written by members of our editorial team. Reviews are based on direct assessment of each product — using the site or app as a standard user would — rather than on information supplied by the operator. We do not accept pre-written product descriptions or paid placements.
Our reviews cover the same criteria for every product we assess. This allows comparison on a consistent basis rather than emphasising different factors for different operators. The criteria are set out in full on our How We Compare page.
What our scores mean
Editorial scores on OddsRoyalty are expressed on a 1–10 scale. They represent our team's comparative assessment of a product at the time of review, based on the criteria we apply. They are not:
- —Official ratings or certifications from any regulator or standards body
- —Recommendations to bet or to use any particular operator
- —Guarantees of service quality, financial reliability, or odds competitiveness
- —Aggregated user review scores
A high editorial score indicates that a product performed well across our assessment criteria. It does not indicate that betting with that operator will produce positive financial outcomes.
Independence from commercial relationships
OddsRoyalty is funded through affiliate commissions (see our Affiliate Disclosure). We maintain editorial independence from these commercial relationships in the following ways:
- ✓Editorial scores are not adjusted to reflect commission rates
- ✓We do not remove or soften critical content to maintain affiliate relationships
- ✓Operators do not have the right to review or approve editorial content before publication
- ✓Product inclusion is based on editorial relevance, not commission value
We acknowledge that the affiliate model creates inherent pressure. We manage this through consistent application of editorial criteria and full public disclosure of our funding structure.
Review currency and updates
Sportsbook products change frequently. Operators update their interfaces, change their terms, alter their market coverage, and introduce or remove features. Our reviews reflect conditions at the time of writing and are not guaranteed to be current.
We update our assessments when we become aware of significant changes. However, we do not monitor every operator in real time. Readers should treat our editorial content as a starting point for their research and should verify current conditions directly with any operator before registering or depositing.
If you identify a factual inaccuracy in our content, please use our Contact page to let us know.
Factual accuracy and limitations
We take reasonable care to ensure that factual information in our reviews is accurate at the time of publication. However, we make no warranties about the accuracy, completeness, or currentness of our content. Our reviews represent editorial opinion, not verified fact.
We do not verify claims about operator licences, financial status, or regulatory standing. Any statements about regulatory context in our content are general observations, not verified conclusions. Always check directly with the UK Gambling Commission if you want to confirm the licence status of any operator.
Content not included in our reviews
We do not include fabricated customer testimonials, invented personal stories, or unverified claims about bonus value or expected financial outcomes. We do not suggest that any betting product is likely to generate profit or provide guaranteed value. Betting involves financial risk and outcomes are uncertain.
